What They Do

Aerospace engineering and operations technicians work hands-on with the sophisticated equipment that brings aircraft and spacecraft from concept to reality. They operate computer systems, simulators, and data acquisition instruments that test and evaluate aerospace vehicles throughout development and production. In their daily work, they might calibrate precision measurement tools, run diagnostic tests on propulsion systems, or monitor telemetry data during vehicle launches. These technicians install and maintain complex integrated systems including communications networks, navigation equipment, and flight control simulators used for both testing and training purposes.
