Inspect agricultural commodities, processing equipment, and facilities, and fish and logging operations, to ensure compliance with regulations and laws governing health, quality, and safety.

What They Do

Agricultural inspectors spend their days examining farms, food processing plants, storage facilities, and agricultural products to ensure they meet safety and quality standards. They might test soil samples, inspect livestock for disease, verify that organic produce meets certification requirements, or examine grain shipments for contamination. Much of their work involves walking through fields, warehouses, and production facilities, carefully observing conditions and collecting samples for laboratory analysis.
