What They Do

Surgical technologists work as vital members of operating room teams, ensuring that surgeries run smoothly and safely from start to finish. Before procedures begin, they prepare the operating room by sterilizing equipment, arranging surgical instruments in the precise order they'll be needed, and checking that everything is functioning properly. Once patients arrive, surgical technologists help position them on the operating table and may assist with preparing the surgical site.
