What They Do

Woodworkers in this category create, assemble, and finish wooden products that fall outside specialized woodworking trades. They might craft custom furniture pieces, build architectural millwork like decorative trim and moldings, or create specialized wooden components for construction projects. On any given day, they work with various tools including hand saws, power sanders, routers, and joiners to cut, shape, and smooth wood according to specifications or their own designs. They read blueprints or sketches, measure and mark cutting lines, and select appropriate wood types based on the project's requirements.
