Camera and Photographic Equipment Repairers

Camera and photographic equipment repairers work with precision tools and technical knowledge to diagnose and fix problems in a wide range of imaging devices. They examine cameras, lenses, lighting equipment, and video recording systems to identify mechanical failures, electronic malfunctions, or optical misalignments. Much of their day involves carefully disassembling equipment, testing individual components with specialized meters and diagnostic software, and replacing or adjusting worn or damaged parts. They calibrate lenses to ensure proper focus, repair shutter mechanisms, fix autofocus systems, and troubleshoot circuit boards in digital cameras and video equipment.
