What They Do

Network and computer systems administrators keep an organization's technology infrastructure running smoothly. They install and configure servers, routers, and network equipment, then monitor these systems throughout the day to catch problems before they affect users. When employees can't access files or the internet goes down, administrators troubleshoot the issue and implement fixes. They perform regular maintenance tasks like applying security patches, updating software, and backing up critical data to prevent loss during emergencies.
