What They Do

Retail salespersons spend their days interacting with customers on the sales floor, helping them find products that meet their needs and preferences. They greet shoppers as they enter the store, answer questions about merchandise features and pricing, and guide customers through their purchasing decisions. Much of their time involves demonstrating how products work, explaining differences between similar items, and offering suggestions based on what customers are looking for. They also handle transactions at the register, process payments, bag purchases, and manage returns or exchanges.
