Information Technology Project Managers

Plan, initiate, and manage information technology (IT) projects. Lead and guide the work of technical staff. Serve as liaison between business and technical aspects of projects. Plan project stages and assess business implications for each stage. Monitor progress to assure deadlines, standards, and cost targets are met.

What They Do

Information technology project managers orchestrate complex technical initiatives from conception through completion, ensuring software development, system implementations, network upgrades, and digital transformation efforts stay on track. They spend their days coordinating with software developers, network engineers, database administrators, and other IT specialists, translating technical requirements into actionable plans while keeping business stakeholders informed of progress. Much of their work happens in office settings, though they may move between conference rooms for team meetings, stakeholder presentations, and problem-solving sessions.
